Bartok You May Never Have Heard

February 5, 2013

Many listeners have heard of the Rumanian composer Bela Bartok, whose Concerto for Orchestra and works for violin are relatively well known. However, Bartok’s Dance Suite, a jazzy, modern work one could compare to Khachaturian’s music, is performed infrequently. This critic heard it played recently, and thought it would be a good idea to let the world know about it! Feel free to impart any thoughts of your own.

Here is the work in full, performed by the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin.
